Industry Briefing // 16.02.23

In this first studio session, we received an industry briefing delivered by the client Chatty Feet, and our tutors give an additional presentation about the different ways that portraits: a representation of a particular person (Tate, accessed: February 2023) has been captured throughout history.

We were also shown a timeline for this five-week project which includes:

Final design of your character using the Adobe Illustrator templates provided. Please suggest a character name with a pun.

The notes that I took in this session are seen on the image gallery on the left. I have drawn a rough plan for myself to follow, which I will document on my blog. Within my sketchbook, I also completed several drawings experimenting with the visuals of which character from Chatty Feet's lineup that I would choose. Ultimately selecting Cleopatra, I have created a few quick sketches to generate ideas for my final design, including pattern, and facial features.
